Linman & Associates is supporting one of its clients, a major international industrial player in the agri-food sector, in the recruitment of its future Health, Safety & Environment Manager (HSE).

Position based in Baie-d’Urfé / Montreal (Quebec, Canada)
Regular travel to Alexandria

Poste

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the HSE Manager is responsible for implementing the company’s Health, Safety and Environment strategy with the objective of reducing workplace accidents, improving working conditions, minimizing the environmental impact of production sites, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Conduct and lead workplace risk assessments
  • Define and enforce safety rules across the organization, ensuring consistency and proper deployment
  • Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead and/or participate in Health & Safety committee meetings at each site
  • Conduct and coordinate H&S audits on workstations and production lines
  • Identify and implement ergonomic improvements to reduce musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)
  • Define and manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Ensure regulatory monitoring and compliance follow-up
  • Analyze incidents, accidents, and audit findings
  • Lead crisis management (incidents, sanitary crises, etc.)
  • Monitor and analyze H&S performance indicators (accident rates, injury types, etc.)
  • Ensure proper fire risk management across sites

Environment

  • Ensure monitoring and updating of environmental compliance files (waste management, emissions, etc.)
  • Guarantee compliance with environmental regulations
  • Supervise monitoring of environmental discharges and reporting to regulatory authorities

Profil

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, ideally within the agri-food sector
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec & Canadian regulations
  • Certifications such as CRSP and ISO 14001 are considered an asset
  • Experience in audits, incident investigations, and project management
